About Carrie

Carrie Luxem is the Founder and CEO of Restaurant HR Group, Inc. and the coach and trainer at Restaurant HR & Leadership Academy. A passionate advocate for the restaurant industry, she is dedicated to empowering HR leaders and operators with the knowledge and tools they need to build thriving teams and businesses.

Carrie is the author of Restaurant Operator’s HR PlaybookSoft Skills Playbook, and the upcoming Restaurant HR & Payroll Compliance Playbook (2025). With nearly 30 years of industry experience, she has become a trusted voice in restaurant HR, known for her modern, practical, and results-driven approach.

Her journey began at just 15 years old at Dairy Queen, where she discovered her love for the restaurant industry. She later became Potbelly Sandwich Works’ first HR leader when they had just three locations and played a key role in their growth to over 200 restaurants nationwide.

Today, Carrie is recognized as one of the Top 50 Women Innovators in the restaurant industry and is frequently featured in Entrepreneur, Inc., Restaurant News, Pizza Today, Modern Restaurant Magazine, Independent Restaurateur, and more. She is the host of The Carrie Luxem

Beyond her career, Carrie is most proud of her role as wife to restaurant owner and operator John Luxem and mom to two incredible boys, Keegan and Logan. When she’s not working, she loves unplugging with family and friends—and if there’s a Pitbull concert nearby, you can bet she’ll be there!
